DC Councilmember Harry Thomas Jr.’s 2nd Payment of $50,000 To DC Not Yet Paid

Where’s the $50,000 payment? The deadline for D.C. Councilmember Harry Thomas Jr. to make his second payment of $50,000 to the D.C. Attorney General’s office was not met.

As of late Monday afternoon, the Office of Attorney General had not yet received a payment from Thomas because of the holiday weekend. The July 31, 2011 deadline was pushed back to Tuesday at the close of business.

In July, Thomas agreed to pay the District $300,000, although he admits to no wrongdoing. Thomas is accused of using public funds that were supposed to be for youth sports on an SUV and other luxuries.

FOX 5 has attempted to get comment from Thomas at his office. A call was also made to his attorney.
